Salisbury House Farm
Salisbury House, the setting out was key on this project. Ensuring sure the floor feature was central to the door feature and running through into the wet room where the tile bonds needed to run up the walls. It was 3 days before a tile was fixed, we dry laid all the features out to make sure the mosaics would fit perfectly. Measuring not just twice but three and four times to make sure everything would fit perfectly. The mosaics had to be pre-adhered to construction boards to make up the thickness between themselves and the tile and due to the variation in joint thickness of the mosaic. In addition, most needed to be cut into individual pieces. Furthermore, the installation of the mosaics on the bath detail took 20 hours alone to complete.
All of the walls were boarded out using construction board. Also dural CI matting was adhered to the floor using Tilemaster rapid Setaflex. The stone was sealed using Lithofin Stain Stop & Grouting was carried out using 2 colours, Mapei 171 Turquoise on the mosaics and Floating Driftwood from Ardex on the main field tile.
